That very item caused quite a debate in my own household. In the end, we decided against it because of the pricey data plan and the 2-year contract (we have heard rumors that more carriers will be offering it soon and didn't want to lock in with AT&T just in case...). But, did you know the iPod Touch offers pretty much all the same features as the iPhone without the pricey contract? Of course it doesn't have the phone feature or a camera, and you need to be in a Wi-Fi hotspot to access online apps such as email, web browser, etc. So far, I have found several of the apps I use don't need Wi-Fi, so I'm good to go when I'm not in a hotspot. I got it for Christmas and have been absolutely loving it. My husband wonders if it was a bad idea to get it for me since I'm constantly using it. Ha!
