Musing Mommies Podcast Episode 130 Monday November 14th, 2011

Musing Mommies Podcast Episode 101 Monday March 28th 2011

Spring has sprung Musing Mommies listeners! It was so hot in our neck of the woods on Saturday that we had to crank up the a/c.  We grilled on the patio and enjoyed the evening warmth on the back deck. I was ready to put the long sleeved shirts in the back of the closet. Then on Monday morning it was freezing again! Why does that happen??

So, bundled up and shivering, MuMos Kim and Dawn gathered this week to sit down with the super smart and talented Abbey Fatica, founder of Living My Moment. Listen in as Abbey tells us how she took a relatively simple idea and turned it into an amazing service and successful company in less than two years.

Hey there MuMos!

It’s time for another giveaway and Kim and Dawn have a great one for December.  As you all know, The Musing Mommies camped out last week at a local book store to participate in The Pioneer Woman Cooks book signing!  Kim and Dawn got their own personal copies of the book signed by the whole PW family, and they also got one copy signed for YOU!

This signed copy is even more special, because not only did P-Dub sign it, but also Marlboro Man AND PW’s sister Betsy!! What a bonus! Betsy hasn’t been to many of the signings, so to have her autograph in the book as well makes it extra special!

Welcome girls, it’s a chilly day so let your mug of delish warm you up. It’s been a busy week, hasn’t it?  Thanksgiving travels, back to school, back to lessons and practice, and The Pioneer Woman!

Dawn and I talked all about our Thanksgiving travels in our last podcast but let me tell you just a bit.  We traveled many miles, ate lots of food, conversed with many a family member and got home in time to go see NEW MOON together.  I was so happy to be able to see the movie, again, with my co-host.  I was dying to talk with her about it and now I can, finally!

So last night Dawn and I went to The Pioneer Woman’s book signing at the BookPeople store in Austin.  It was cold, there were may people but it was really a treat to get to meet her and her family.  She really seems to be as sweet as she can be.

All ages from tiny babies to "elderly"

I've never seen her so excited!

Musing Mommies Podcast Episode 29, October 5, 2009

We live in a fast paced, frantic world.

You’re up at 6 AM.  You do breakfast, pack lunches, dress children, load up the car, do the drop off, run the errands, pick up the kids, change the clothes, head to practice, drive through dinner, change clothes again, attend a game or event, rush home, plow through homework and laundry and cleaning, baths, bed time stories and eventually collapse into your own bed, only to start it all over again 8 hours later. shew!!

Are your kids are in so many activities that you and your spouse have to actually split up the kids just to get them taxied to their proper destinations?

Are all these commitments, these enrichment activities really enriching our lives?

Maybe… maybe not.

This week, the Musing Mommies Kim and Dawn discuss the dreaded, over-scheduling, by speaking with author Ann Kroeker about her new book, “Not So Fast. Slow Down Solutions for Frenzied Families“.  In her book, Ann discusses the art of slowing down – finding your limits, defining what is your personal success, and saying “no”.
